This is a listing of various sites that have relevance either to myself or what you'll see on this site.
The JunkYard: This is the host of my site, of which I am quite thankful. The providers are also very helpful, and very devoted to what they do. "tJY" covers a lot of materials, but primarily the Metaltech universe (Earthsiege, Starsiege, Tribes, Cyberstorm, Hunter/Hunted, Stellar 7, Nova 9) and Halo. The plus side is that the news they carry is fan-based, so reviews and information are from an everyday man's point of view, rather than partisan news from standard gaming news sites. Garage Games: some members of the Dynamix team that was released in the early 2000's formed Garage Games with the purpose of making the development of independent games a possibility for anyone with $100 in their pocket. Even without the money, you can still participate in game development here. It's a good starting point for a career, a hobby, or just news or community interaction. Starsiege: 2845: This is the official sequel to Starsiege, which was the third game in the Earthsiege series. This used to be a MOD for Tribes: Vengeance, but has since moved to the Torque Shader Engine. This is the source of most of my concept work to date, and probably my favorite hobby. The developers aren't being paid for their work, nor will they be paid when Sierra is handed the finished product, yet the dedication and thorough amount of planning put into the game so far has been a lot more than most "real" games on the market today. Starsiege Universe: This is a great source for the Metaltech Universe. If you're looking for information on the backstory of any of the MU games, you'll likely find it here. It's the best resource for MU information I've found thusfar, and it's still growing. As new information is released from Tribes: Vengeance and Starsiege: 2845, it's added to the site almost immediately. |
