"Subjugator 2"

My second version of the Subjugator. The original was both too squat and barely had any details at all; both of these flaws were evident in the model that Vailias made. So, I set out to correct this problem, as I felt that I had enough experience to draw it correctly at that point.

This version was the first drawing I'd done in quite along time that was not finalized in ink, so it felt rather awkward. The head has some obviously heavy shading, which I tried to correct but ended up just messing slightly. The forward part of the arms I stole somewhat from the model Vailias made of the Executioner (v2). The rest is purely me. I usually draw the shape of the design first, at least on mechanical things, and then make the details fit around the basic shape, which is why a lot of my designs that I detailed have a lot of segmentation in them.

The most common detials on any Cybrid design, usually, as vents, sharp lining, metal circles (the tops of large bolts I would assume) and segmented portioning (usually spiked curves). I'd like to think I'm responsible for most of these, as a good deal of Cybrid designs are either mine originally, use some details I came up with, or are based somewhat on an idea I had. It feels strange going back to other people's models and artwork and recognizing little aspects of them that came from either the Harbinger, orignial Subjugator, Metagen Goad or other designs that never got a definite place in 2845.

I go to a lot of sources whn I detail things, sometimes even other concepts I've done. I found myself looking at the revamped Diablo often during this design, although the only thing I really used from that were the adjoining "hubcap bolts" on the legs. (I actually stole those somewhat from the original Starsiege artwork for the Diablo in the compendium.)
