"Cybrid Buggy 2"

My second (and final) attempt at a wheeled Cybrid buggy for the July Starsiege: 2845 contest, on this design I tried to focus more on making it look fast and mobile. I drew this design at least ten times, hundreds counting thumbnails in various forms before I decided to finish this one. There were two others I enjoyed, but they resembled other people's ideas too much, and I also really didn't like the idea of driving them, although I did think that they may have a good chance of winning.

I didn't spend much time inking this because I was both tired of working on the Buggy idea and because I was running out of time before the end of July. Nontheless, it gets the idea across and I'm still pleased with the end result, given the difficulty of making a wheeled vehicle look like a Cybrid.

The perspective is odd, since I usually draw things from the front, but every time I tried to draw this concept from the front it never got the idea across because of the view. Drawing from a slightly top-down perspective didn't work either. Eventually I realized the main draw of the drawing was its somewhat curved body as viewed from the side, so I just focused on that. The ridges below the vehicle are the Cybrid "ground effects" I carried over from my first design. Overall, I tried to make the design seem both Metagen as well as Promethean since the buggy itself was to be universal, lacking faction-specific features. So, all the details are an attempt to combine the very thick features of a Metagen with the slick, curved surfaces of a Promethean.
