links concepts sketches fiction

E-mail: elimccl@gmail.com

This is a repository for all of my drawings and fiction.

The "sketches" section contains drawings (concepts) I don't approve of for various reasons. The "concepts" section is full of the "good stuff," drawings I consider finalized or good enough for me to not be concerned with.

You can still view all of the drawings together in the new window that opens when you click any of the thumbnails. Just click the arrows to advance manually, one drawing at a time. You can tell which is a sketch/concept by the window title. Otherwise, simply visit each section.

The fiction and links section should be obvious.

July 20th, 2007

Since Eye of the North is being released for Guild Wars soon, that means I'm stuck downloading about 500 MBs of data for about a week on dial up. Consequently, I got bored and drew something Guild Wars-related.

In other news, 2845 was shut down back in April. (I got the message on April Fool's Day.) So, needless to say, pretty much 3/4 of everything I've drawn is irrelevant on this site. Coincidentally, I'm now a concept artist on the same team that was doing 2845, now that they've moved on to another project.

March 1st, 2007

Arena Net announced a Design-a-Weapon contest for Guild Wars recently. About three hours after I heard about it, I have for you my latest concept.

January 12th, 2007

I'm ringing in the new year a few weeks late with an inked picture of a Cybrid Hunter-Killer. Enjoy, people that read this.

December 12th, 2006

Wow, it's been a while. I celebrate my college finals being over by bothering to upload something I finished ages ago and uploading my "first" commission work. I actually have about a dozen other things I've drawn but never finished sitting around, but I doubt I'll ever complete and upload them all.

September 16th, 2006

Today I bring to you my second Cybrid Aerial Transport. The first one, even when I drew it one or two years ago, was really ugly. This one is a little better, thankfully.

September 6th, 2006

The frenzy ended, obviously. Today, you receive a little sketch I did in 5mm pencil of Aeris from VG Cats. I like the comic, was feeling bored, and wondered how accurate I could get to another art style, or possibly if I could combine it with my own. Now hopefully I won't be sued for who knows what reason.

August 5th, 2006

Apparently, I'm on a drawing FRENZY. I have a rather large update today: three images. The first is the sequel to my last concept, a female of the same species. The second drawing is of another Thing (ref: 1982 John Carpenter remake, "The Thing"). The third is of Keora, the actual person that would eventually become Keoradine. (Pronounced as a duo-syllabic "Kyeohr-dine" if you're wondering.)

August 3rd, 2006

Another entry in my "Creatures of Nahala" series (which is not a series, just me being bored), I give you the... patriarch, I suppose, of a yet-to-be-named species that inhabits the world of Nahala in "Keoradine."

August 1st, 2006

Reklaw #4. I'm currently writing two stories with my personal avatar character in them: Devon and Damien (working title) and Keoradine. This is the version you might see in Keoradine (needs perfecting), whereas the Devon and Damien version is my old Concept 59. "D/D" is on this site, actually, and is something I write for fun with my best friend, whose personal avatar I suppose is Devon. I told my friend the other day that while writing Keoradine, which I stress over making "professional," I looked back on D/D and shivered at how awful it was. Truly, it needs a good cleaning. We each take turns writing sort of terrible chapters back and forth for fun. Mine I churn out in about an hour, so you know they're just... oh, fantastic. Keoradine I may one day upload, although the thought makes me feel like if I do, it will be the end of it. Keoradine is basically a story I've had in my head for years and years that I'd never written down, that's an allegory about the dangers of failing to grow beyond your senses, as well as being about me actually writing the story. It's all very surreal and I'm sure no one cares anyway.

July 12th, 2006

Today I started with one idea and ended with someone else's, drawing this image of an Imperial Escort. (Yes, another Starsiege entry, although originally, it was going to be another original.)

June 5th, 2006

What Am I?

May 26th, 2006

It's Harbinger #2! Why? Because the last one was ugly and I wanted to make sure the 2845 modelers had some other ideas when they come up with their own new design.

May 14th, 2006

Ah, no more college. And no job! Hurray for questionable futures!

Before I probably end up living in a ditch, I might as well upload an image, right? Well, here's one of Aeris and Tifa (not Aerith, thanks) from FF7/Advent Children.

By the way, since when has Cait Sith been Scottish? And what has he ever done for anyone, aside from being crushed by ancient temples that set lose the key to the destruction of our planet, precognitively informing us of the death of our most-loved friends and screaming at things he rides on? You can't even kill him. You remember that, right? The Cait Sith we have today is Cait Sith #2. Reeve, I think, needs to learn to be self-actuating. Lazy sack.

If Reno can use a stick and Rude can use a... stare, surely you can pick up a gun or some piano wire and go to work.

April 4th, 2006

Today I added a sort of spoiler/preview for Heritage. It's the main "villain" of the story. Although I am quite sure no one cares at all, I'll say that the description contains spoilers of several pages of the comic I have not uploaded yet. Be "warned," you one or two guys that actually care... if you exist, which you do not. Concept 140. Only 60 more drawings and I will have 200 drawings on this site. With Heritage, I currently have about 170 images, not counting the one or two small ones in my personal folder. At about 150kb per image, that's a lot of data. Thanks go to tJY for hosting all this crap.

Also of note are a few new chapters of the Devon/Damien unnamed story my best friend and I work on. Yes, I know you don't care. But I did it. I added Chapter 4, Act III through Chapter 5, Act III.

Also, I've switched the buttons in the banner so that Concepts is in the middle. I get sick of people clicking on the sketches section and never going to the concepts section, which is the "real" part of the site. Sketches are my trash, essentially.

March 30th, 2006

Two items: a new sketch of Flesh Golems and I found the old original of Concept 125, which I updated.

March 21st, 2006

Huh, doesn't seem like it took a whole month to get this done, but here I am. Six more pages of Heritage are up, pages 24-29, starting here. And guess what? Someone finally fired a weapon!

February 21st, 2006

Happy new years, a-holes! In between college, which I reluctantly returned to, and iced over roads and cancelled classes, I also returned to my comic. For some reason I had a strange desire to work on it, probably due to my recent inclination to create art, or questionable art I should say. The first of these pages I drew months ago, the second a week or so ago, and the last two I pumped out furiously. Somehow I've gotten out of my scratchy-lazy-style, and now how I ink looks more like my initial primary drafts, which is fine by me. The main villain draws ever closer, folks. And you know what that means! Huge scenes of fighting, dismemberment and chaos! Huzzah! Anyway, be amazed at how much information I can fit into little bubbles - I know I was. Enjoy pages 20-23.

December 29th, 2005

Likely my last thing for this year, obviously. I present to you, four more pages of Heritage. These used to be good in the draft stage, but after I picked them back up after about... four months apparently, I just didn't feel like fooling with things, so the later ones turned out really scratchy, and the panels sometimes don't match up well. The reason for this is that not only have I been busy, working and preparing for college, but I have also been hospitalized for several months due to cancer treatments, also taking time to deal with the deaths of both of my parents and my recent bouts with insanity. Not really. I'm just lazy. Everyone is alive and well, and you'll likely get new comic pages in three years. Enjoy.

November 1st, 2005

As a Halloween treat... or something, whatever, I designed some new armors for the professions in Guild Wars. That is, if you can make them out. I started this on Halloween and ended on November 1st. Anyway, here's a link for idiots. Only click it if you're stupid! Ha, just joking; or am I? Click it, stupid.

October 18th, 2005

I've uploaded an image of one of the main characters from my comic, Heritage. I entitled the image Verdant Coil because that is her house squad name. Note that none of the characters in the comic actually have names.

September 21st, 2005

I finally pushed myself to redesign (detail mostly) the Subjugator. You may find the Subjugator 2 here.

September 5th, 2005

I just noticed that this site has been up a whole year. I lose track of time easily, as days often seem like hours to me. To commerate this occassion of one month ago today, I think, I have found and uploaded (after getting permission from a few people) some old drawings I either had stowed away or have found lying around. Actually, I was going to do that anyway, and only now, upon uploading everything, have noticed what date it is that I launched the site. Take what you can get. There are 15 new images, so just start here an click onward. Or, visit the concept and sketches areas, as I placed new items in both areas.

August 31st, 2005

Behold, five more pages of Heritage. Yes, I'm still working on it. No fight scenes yet.

July 25th, 2005

Satisfied, I end my descent into wheeled Cybrid madness with this design.

July 7th, 2005

What may be the first of a series of designs of Cybrid buggies for the latest 2845 contest may be found here. It may be the first in a series because I'm not totally satisfied with it.

June 1st, 2005

I didn't realize it had been so long since I first uploaded the Heritage comic until I typed this. Anyway, here's four more pages.

May 12th, 2005

Page 6 of the Heritage comic is up. So far the whole thing has been viewed by a grand total of seven people. Clear sailin' ahead!

May 11th, 2005

Finally, after what seems like forever, I pushed myself to finish enough work on this to post. It's not pretty, and it's not supposed to be, but it should still deliver the idea. Presenting, the beginnings of my Starsiege: 2845 comic. Nothing to be excited about though - it's only five pages so far. It takes absolutely forever to get even one of them done, mainly because of all the lines and editing I have to do on my computer. As you can probably tell from my scribbled in "details," drawing them doesn't take anywhere near as long. I decided to put it in the Fiction section, since it seemed appropriate, and I didn't want to completely rearrange my site to make way for images that aren't really concepts.

February 17th, 2005

To "celebrate" (I guess) the movement of Starsiege: 2845 to TSE, I drew a new version of the Pouncer Bike, which could technically now be used, despite its two-wheel coding necessitation.

January 28th, 2005

In my boredom, today I drew a little sketch of an eldery man. You can find his decrepit visage here.

January 20th, 2005

It certainly took long enough, but I finally worked up the motivation to finalize a design for the second contest winner, the Diablo, which you can find here. It doesn't look much like I had originally planned, but I like the end result a lot better. It was a nice way to start off the new year. Hopefully, I can begin work on some new shading techniques this year, which is supposed to lend a hand to making faces appear realistic. Knowing me, however, I won't actually ever finish one.

November 30th, 2004

Today, I put up the first of two 'contest winners' I drew for the sake of revamping old Earthsiege designs. The first, the Cerberus, can be found here. The second will be the Diablo, which I have yet to finalize.

October 12th, 2004

I uploaded a new sketch of an alien sniper today, which is mainly more for personal use than an actual attempt at a concept. It can be found here.

September 29th, 2004

I've uploaded an act of the "Devon and Damien" story I completed this morning. The story is an ongoing hobby of my best friend and mine. This is Chapter 4, Act 2.

September 15th, 2004

Today, you will find my latest concept, a wallpaper depicting all the main human characters from 2845. This is my latest attempt at inking, and turned out quite well. You will find it here.

September 13th, 2004

I uploaded a sketch of a couple of Metagen Shepherds (2845) today, which you can find here.

September 11th, 2004

I notice that a lot of visitors end up in the Sketches area for some reason, with the Concepts section barely getting any attention at all. Hopefully people don't think my sketches are what I waste my time on, so I put up a greeting blurb above explaining what each of them are.

August 29th, 2004

I put in a counter for all my pages today, thanks to a tip from my best friend. Now everyone can see what's been viewed and how many times. I'm actually getting more traffic than I expected from curious bystandards. It seems that the most viewed page is the links page (apparently to get out of the site as quickly as possible) and my fiction piece "Beastiality." Gee, I wonder why. Perverts.

August 28th, 2004

All of the fiction is up now, although I'm missing one or two things that I couldn't find online. Where it went I may never know, which is unfortunate because I won a contest or two with it. I was hoping to get a hit counter just out of my own curiosity, but I couldn't find a free one that didn't demand you sign up or use a huge logo or dance on the tip of the crescent moon.

August 27th, 2004

Everything is finally done. The images are all up, everything is commented on, and there are no bugs. The only problem is that the site won't cache images, which is something I don't know how to fix. Most people don't have 16.8k like me, so it shouldn't be a problem to mostly anyone viewing the site.

August 10th, 2004

The site is finally working, although it's incomplete in that I don't have all of my images commented on yet.

August 8th, 2004

The actual galleries are up today, although only the thumbnails. Hopefully I'll be able to get the htmls for each image up soon enough, and possibly some other things.

August 4th, 2004

The site goes up today, although it's very incomplete. I'm still working on an idea of what things will look like, but I'm sure it will retain most of the appearance it has right now, since this was never meant to look like a professional site.
